Sounders react to a wild Seahawks win

Let’s be honest. The Seahawks are the talk of the American sports world right now.

The end to that Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen.

I jokingly asked Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid on Tuesday if he had a new perspective on MLS refs in the aftermath of another controversy involving the NFL’s replacements refs.

“I wish we could get some of those (refs),” Schmid said with a laugh. “If we could get guys who can make errors on our side like that, we’d be more than happy to have them.”

“(The Packers) probably had good reason to be upset. … Obviously a dramatic ending and great for the Seahawks. Even though the result was maybe was a little tainted there at the end, to be able to play a team like that and play them on even terms is a good thing.”

At least a handful of Sounders were in attendance. Defender Zach Scott tweeted a picture from the stands. Bryan Meredith shared a photo, as well. Servando Carrasco, David Estrada and Josh Ford were all shown on the way to the game in this picture from Alex Morgan‘s Twitter account.

Forward Eddie Johnson was there, too.

“It was amazing, man!” he said. “It was freakin’ amazing! I felt like I was on the field when they scored. … I was jumping. That was the first time I’ve ever been to a sporting event where I was a fan, man. I was throwing around my Seahawks towel. I had my (Bobby) Wagner jersey on. It was crazy.”

Not a Russell Wilson jersey?

“I switch them up,” Johnson said. “I’ve got two of them. Both of them are my buddies. One day I’ll wear the Russell; one day I’ll wear the (Wagner). I try to support both of them — two unbelievably great guys. I’m fortunate to know them and they hook me up when I go to games.”

After the jump I’ve added some more tweets…
