Seattle’s report is the same as Tuesday’s.

The big news is midfielder Osvaldo Alonso looks good to go after dealing with a slight muscle strain. This is was expected all along, but he had been limited in training early the week.

Coach Sigi Schmid said he got through Friday’s practice without any problems: “He’s good.”

And Alonso?

“I feel great,” he said. “I’ll try to play Sunday.”

Schmid furthered explained their strategy this week in holding Alonso out of certain practice drills.

“We were just being careful with him, making sure he had a chance to recover from the injury,” the coach said. “Ozzie’s the kind of guy who will try and train through anything. Sometimes with Alonso you have to put the shackles on him and hold him back a little bit. We probably could’ve let him go on Tuesday, but we just wanted to be a little more conservative with him.”
