Sounders FC vs. Portland, lineups

portland home 2012.jpg

The tarps are off here at CenturyLink Field as we count down to tonight’s nationally televised game between Sounders FC and the Portland Timbers. Here are some notes and story lines:

— The Cascadia Cup is on the line (Portland claims it with a win or tie).

— Seattle could jump up to third place in the West with a win.

— More than 66,000 fans are expected.

— Roger Levesque will be honored pregame.

— The fan vote to retain or remove GM Adrian Hanauer starts today.

There are a lot of things to be excited about in this one, not to mention what is surely the best rivalry in the league. The Sounders are just about a full strength, so we could see a first-choice squad again.

I’ll post lineups here when they become available.
