Sounders FC’s midweek injury report

SEATTLE SOUNDERS FCOUT: FW Babayele Sodade (R knee ACL tear); DF Andrew Duran (L ACL surgery); DOUBTFUL: DF Leo Gonzalez (R hamstring strain); DF Patrick Ianni (R calf strain); PROBABLE: DF Jhon Kennedy Hurtado (facial fracture); MF Steve Zakuani (abdominal strain)

Absolutely no changes from last week’s report before the FC Dallas game.

I asked coach Sigi Schmid if Sodade, who has been training with the team, might be a consideration for Wednesday’s CCL game (he’s not eligible for MLS games but is in non-league competitions) or if it’s too soon still. The rookie forward suffered the ACL tear back in March.

“No, it’s still too early for him coming off his ACL,” Schmid said. “He’s going and he’s training now and he’s trying to get his touch back and round himself fully into shape. There’s no need to push him out there right now. It’d be a mistake.”

I don’t expect Gonzalez or Ianni to be available. You might see starters like Eddie Johnson, Mauro Rosales and Osvaldo Alonso get the day off, too.
