There was a little confusion regarding the schedule of the CONCACAF Champions League knockout rounds the other day, but this graphic (above) from the confederation should make things more clear.

The quarterfinals are to be played March 5-7 and March 12-14.

The semifinals are April 2-4 and April 9-11.

The finals are April 24 and May 1.

Let’s get to some links:

* * *

— Also from CONCACAF, here’s a statement on reports that the U.S. will host a special centennial Copa America in 2016.

— Sounds like 300-plus Sounders fans will be at The Home Depot Center tonight. Here’s a preview from the Galaxy perspective.

— There hasn’t been an official announcement regarding upcoming EPL television rights in America (unless I’ve missed it), but ESPN and FOX are surprisingly out according to this report.

Lots of crazy stuff on Toronto FC on this report, including a critical look at Aron Winter‘s methods and more on MLS’s apparent nix of an Olof Mellberg deal in the summer.

— Elsewhere around the league, one national writer takes an early look at his postseason award finalists, another takes an interesting look at partisanship of local broadcasters, and one writer wonders if this has been the best MLS regular season ever.

— Also, the future of Freddy Adu in Philadelphia appears very much in doubt, here’s a look at D.C. United’s late-season success without the reigning MVP, and the Galaxy should be able to have a full crowd for its midweek playoff game vs. Vancouver.

Here’s another story on goalkeeper Chris Seitz interrupting his season to help a stranger in need, and it looks like the season of local product George John is done.

— Here’s a good roundup of some Sounders FC Academy products in action.

— Across the pound, the Rooney Rule idea (having to interview minority candidates for open coaching positions) isn’t going over well in England.

— Lastly, here’s a young guy that appears to be after my job… 🙂
