Dates have been set for Sounders FC’s upcoming playoff series against Real Salt Lake.
Seattle, the No. 3 seed in the West, will host the first leg of a two-game series on Friday at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff time is yet to be confirmed and tickets go on sale to the general public at 9 a.m. by visiting SoundersFC.com or by calling 800-745-3000.
Stadium capacity at CenturyLink Field is currently set for just the lower bowl, which means season-ticket holders in the first rows of the upper deck and the Hawks’ Nest can’t keep their seats, as of now.
General manager Adrian Hanauer expained:
“We want it tight and as intimidating as possible,” he said. “We didn’t want fans scattered around, so first and foremost was to sell that lower bowl. If we sell that, I assume we’ll open the next areas, but we know from experience that selling playoff tickets can be challenging.”
The series concludes Nov. 8 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Real Salt Lake, of course, eliminated the Sounders from last year’s playoffs by a 3-2 aggregate score in the conference semifinals.
