Mauro Rosales (hamstring) will travel to Salt Lake, availability to be determined Thursday

rosales mug.jpgThe Sounders are flying out to Utah today for the second leg of a Western Conference semifinal against Real Salt Lake, and Mauro Rosales will make the trip.

The midfielder suffered a hamstring-related injury in the first leg of the series and hasn’t been able to practice this week. He has been progressing, though, and was able to get through all of the team’s warmup Wednesday before being pulled.

“We’ll see how he feels tomorrows,” coach Sigi Schmid. “But as he said, it’s progressed much better than he expected it to progress right now, and it’s pretty localized, so we’re able to treat it fairly well.”

So is Schmid confident Rosales will at least be available?

“Don’t know until tomorrow, to be honest with you,” the coach said. “I’d like to say yes at this stage, but you never know. With an injury like that, you could have a setback, he could progress really well — we just have to see.”
