Fans offer support at Saturday’s practice

ecs practice.jpgTUKWILA–There was a very cool scene out at Starfire this morning, where a nice contingent of Sounders FC fans were there in support of the team before Sunday’s second leg of the Western Conference finals against the Los Angeles Galaxy.

A banner read: “We beat ’em before … We’ll beat ’em again!”

Flags were waving, and as you can imagine, fans were in full voice. I saw the last bit as coach Sigi Schmid was walking by. Fans did the “Sigi! Sigi! Sigi! Oy! Oy! Oy!” chant and Schmid made sure to shake hands with several of them.

GM Adrian Hanauer also offered his thanks and Kasey Keller got a “Sounders legend!” chant.

Schmid said earlier this week that the fans will play a big part in the team’s comeback hopes: “We’ll need them completely. We need behind us. They were behind us last year and we almost came through with it. This is the year we’ve got to complete the job we didn’t complete last year, so we need our fans and we need their support.
