White withdraws from MLS Re-Entry Draft, league releases updated list of eligible players

MLS Logo.jpgThe list of players eligible for the MLS Re-Entry Draft, which starts Friday, has been reduced by 11.

One of them is Sounders FC forward O’Brian White, who elected to withdraw from the process. That means his MLS rights will be retained by Seattle as he continues to deal with a recurring blood-clot issue in his left leg. Mike Seamon and Andrew Weber remain eligible.

The other 10 no longer on the list include Gonzalo Segares (re-signed by Chicago), Rodney Wallace (re-signed by Portland) and Josh Gardner (traded from Montreal to Sporting Kansas City).

The others are Tony Tchani (Columbus), Marvell Wynne (Colorado), Stephen King (D.C. United), Kyle Nakazawa and Brian Perk (Los Angeles), Justin Mapp (Montreal) and Steve Purdy (Portland). They presumably withdrew with hopes of re-signing with their respective team.

The updated list of 52 is available after the jump. Here’s the link to a post from earlier in the week with more information on the MLS Re-Entry Draft:
