The Sounders Women have hired Hubert Busby, Jr., as head coach and general manager, the team announced Thursday.
Busby, who played for the Jamaican national team, replaces Michelle French, who has been hired as the first full-time head coach of the U.S. U-20 women’s national team.
“I am both pleased and honored to be joining the Sounders Women organization,” Busby said in a news release. “It is a club with a great history and reputation for developing players.”
Busby, 43, has coached previously in Women’s Professional Soccer, the W-League and WPSL Elite. He most recently worked with the Western New York Flash and the Vancouver Whitecaps Women.
