You’ll see the controversial goal was actually fairly allowed due to the “passive offside” rule (the player that received the cross wasn’t offside at the moment of the pass, the player that was offside at the moment of the pass wasn’t directly involved in that play).
Confusing, I know, but this one doesn’t fall on the ref in my opinion. Perhaps a Sounders defender would’ve been able to clear the rebound chance if they all weren’t lobbying for an offside call.
