Johansson, Joseph ruled out of Tuesday’s CCL game; Estrada, Zakuani availability TBD

Seattle Sounders FC LogoSounders FC coach Sigi Schmid provided a brief injury update after Sunday’s practice at CenturyLink Field.

Defender Adam Johansson (knee) and midfielder Shalrie Joseph (calf) were ruled out of Tuesday’s home leg of a CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal against Mexico’s Tigres UANL.

Forward David Estrada (ankle) and midfielder Steve Zakuani (ankle) trained, but their availability is still to be determined.

Reporters asked Estrada how he was feeling after practice, as well.

“I don’t know (about) this upcoming game on Tuesday, but hopefully towards the end of the week I think I’ll be better,” he said. “I definitely feel the progress, but it’s still kind of tough. It’s my first ankle injury, so it’s a little bit frustrating.”
