Sounders game vs. Chivas USA moved from April 7 to Sept. 4 to accommodate CCL
We had heard last weekend that MLS was considering some schedule changes to accommodate the busy schedules of Sounders FC and Los Angeles Galaxy upon their advancement to the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals.
Well, the league got it done.
Seattle’s April 7 home game against Chivas USA has been moved to Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
The Galaxy’s April 6 home game against Montreal has been moved to Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Here is how Sounders FC’s schedule looks now (you can see how a game April 7 would’ve made things tight with five games in 15 days):
Saturday, March 30 — at Real Salt Lake, MLS road game
Tuesday, April 2 — vs. Santos Laguna, CCL semifinal home leg
Tuesday, April 9 — at Santos Laguna, CCL semifinal road leg
Saturday, April 13 — vs. New England, MLS home game
