The Sounders are less than nine percent into their 2013 MLS season. That’s an important fact.
But they are also off to their worst-ever start at this point. An 0-2-1 record matches the 2011 Seattle team in that regard. Of course that same 2011 squad went on to have the franchise’s best regular-season record at 18-7-9.
Here’s a look at the three-game starts throughout the years:
2009 — 3-0-0, nine points
2010 — 1-1-1, four points
2011 — 0-2-1, one point
2012 — 2-1-0, six points
2013 — 0-2-1, one point
Each season, as we know, has a different story.
The 2009 squad would then following a three-game winning streak with a 1-3-5 stretch. The guys in 2010 ultimately sank to a 4-8-3 mark at the midway point but rebounded. And, as mentioned earlier, the 2011 team would have the best season to date.
We’ll see how this one plays out.
