CCL teams 0-for-12 when losing the first leg of a two-game series at home
Sounders FC and the Los Angeles Galaxy face a tall task in advancing to the 2012-13 CONCACAF Champions League finals.
How tall? Well, no team in tournament history has ever advanced from a two-game series — play-in round, quarterfinals, semifinals or finals — after losing the first leg at home.
0 for 12.
Only two teams (Puerto Rico and Marathon in the 2010-11 CCL play-in round) have lost their home game in either leg and still advanced. It’s never happened in the later knockout rounds.
