Sigi Schmid rules out Obafemi Martins, “guarantees” victory over Revs on KJR-AM

*     *     *

Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid was on KJR-AM with DaveSoftyMahler this afternoon and talked about several topics. Definitely give it a listen.

A couple highlights…

Obafemi Martins (knee) has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against New England and the hope is he’ll be ready for Colorado next week. Brad Evans (calf) might be at risk of re-injury if they push him against the Revs. Eddie Johnson (hamstring) will be evaluated again Friday.

— Benched guys like Mauro Rosales and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado have done well and might have worked themselves back into the starting lineup.

— Schmid doesn’t worry much about his job being in danger and he’s received support from ownership.

— And regarding Schmid guaranteeing victory over New England, I’ll let you read into that how you like when you listen to it.
