The comeback mountain in the West is getting steeper for the Sounders

UPDATE: 9:57 p.m. — Portland did go on to beat the 10-man ‘Quakes, 1-0, to leap into third in the conference.

FC Dallas and Colorado picked up big wins Saturday to make things even more competitive in the Western Conference. You can take a look at the standings above.

If Portland beats San Jose at home Sunday, Seattle will be the only team in the West without two wins.

So, yes, the season is long, but the comeback task got a notch more difficult after this weekend.
