Sounders game at Philadelphia will also be Star Wars Day (Wednesday links)

With the Sounders headed to Philadelphia this weekend, here’s a look at the head-to-head series. And don’t forget, it’s Star Wars Day (May the Fourth/force be with you…)

Tickets are on sale for the Sounders FC U-23s first round U.S. Open Cup game May 14 against Doxa Italia. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner. Also, here’s a preview of the PDL’s Northwest Division.

— There is a troubling story in Portland with a player being investigated for rape, and Oregonian columnist John Canzano weighed in with this piece. But there was also a very cool story involving the Timbers recently.

— The Washington Post has some interesting notes on David Beckham possibly being behind an MLS expansion push in Miami and the league considering a later start date to the season.

— Like to know referee assignments? Well, here’s what is coming up in MLS, the MLS Reserve League and NWSL.

— Don’t forget, the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League finals is tonight (7 p.m. on FOX Soccer), after Santos Laguna and Monterrey played to a 0-0 tie in the first leg in Torreon. Over in Europe, Borussia Dortmund was just able to hold off Real Madrid to make the UEFA Champions League final.

— Here’s a story indicating Frank Lampard will be staying with Chelsea for another year. And might Jose Mourinho be headed there, as well?

— Boston Breakers midfielder Heather O’Reilly was voted the NWSL Player of the Week, and here’s an interview with Reign FC’s Jenny Ruiz.
