Sounders FC vs. Philadelphia, injury report (Josh Ford placed on disabled list)

SOUNDERS FC: OUT — GK Josh Ford (R patella fracture). QUESTIONABLE — D Marc Burch (pubic sprain), D Patrick Ianni (R foot fracture), M Shalrie Joseph (R hamstring strain), F Obafemi Martins (R leg tendon injury), M Steve Zakuani (abdominal strain).

PHILADELPHIA: QUESTIONABLE — F Antoine Hoppenot (right ankle contusion).

You’ll notice Eddie Johnson and Djimi Traore aren’t listed for the Sounders, which has to be taken as a positive sign (even though these reports are hardly definitive). Joseph, however, has picked up a knock. Ianni’s is more of a fitness concern at his point.

Coach Sigi Schmid made a point in a KJR-AM interview Thursday afternoon to say some players could join the trip in Kansas City early next week — an indication not everyone listed above traveled to Philadelphia. And no, I don’t know who did and didn’t.

Ford is a new addition to the list after injuring his knee in a scrimmage last week. The reserve goalkeeper has actually been placed on the disabled list, meaning he can’t play for six games and would be eligible against June 8 against Vancouver. The UConn product has had knee issues before, so we’ll have to see if this is related.
