A trip to the East Coast or a game at the friendly confines of Starfire Stadium in Tukwila.
It should be no secret who Sounders FC will be rooting for in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup next week when the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) visit VSI Tampa Bay (USL PRO). Seattle, a three-time champion, faces the winner in the third round on May 29.
The scenarios were released by U.S. Soccer this afternoon:
Seattle Sounders (MLS) at Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL)
Al Lang Stadium; St. Petersburg, Fla.
Wednesday, May 29, at 4:30 p.m. PT
VSI Tampa Bay (USL PRO) at Seattle Sounders (MLS)
Starfire Sports Complex; Tukwila, Wash.
Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. PT

Most of the Open Cup third-round games are May 28, but the Sounders get an extra day after having to play an MLS game on the road against the L.A. Galaxy on May 26.
A game against the Rowdies would be interesting because it would set up another matchup between Zach Scott and his brother Dan (they faced off in 2011 when Seattle played the Kitsap Pumas).
Elsewhere, the Sounders FC U-23s would play at the Chicago Fire on May 28 in the third round if they can advance past the Charlotte Eagles (USL PRO) on the road next week.
Here is a first-hand account of the draw, including note that the U-23s didn’t apply to host a potential third-round game.
What do you think of the matchups? Nervous about a potential midweek trip to the East Coast?
