Final: Washington Spirit 4, Reign FC 2, live stream and thread

*     *     *

Final — Spirit 4, Reign FC 2. Seattle falls to 0-5-1, has lost five straight and been outscored 12-4.

84′ — GOAL SPIRIT. Tori Huster just about seals this one for the visitors with a goal to make it 4-2 Washington.

83′ — Reign FC’s attendance of 1,011 tonight is the 2nd lowest in the NWSL this season, according to figures compiled by Equalizer Soccer.

55′ — GOAL SPIRIT. Washington goes up 3-2 on a goal by Tiffany McCarty. We’ve got a shootout here at Starfire.

46′ — GOAL REIGN! Teresa Noyola makes it 2-2, finishing a cross from Christine Nairn. Seattle doubles its goal total tonight.

Halftime — Washington Spirit 2, Seattle Reign FC 1. Deines using crutches now.

40′ — GOAL SPIRIT. Ali Krieger heads home a rebound in the 40th minute to make it 2-1 Washington. First of the year for the U.S. international. A rare Seattle lead didn’t last long.

35′ — GOAL SPIRIT. Diana Matheson equalizes for the Spirit. That’s her fourth goal of the season, tied for the league lead.

30′ — SAVE! Taylor earns a free kick just outside the box and Nairn’s left-footed effort is a good one. Ashlyn Harris is just able to punch it out. Then Teresa Noyola’s volley missed high after a cross from the right side.

28′ — MISS! Taylor had a chance to make it 2-0, but pushes a shot wide after cutting back to her left foot.

17′ — Kate Deines limps off; she can’t put away weight on her right ankle. Emily Zurrer on. Reign FC’s personnel woes continue.

11′ — Looked like Larsen with the assist. This is the Reign’s second lead of the seaosn.

6′ — GOAL REIGN FC! Lindsay Taylor slams home a 15-yard shot from 15 yards out. That’s Seattle’s third goal of the year, breaks a 291-minute drought.

1′ — We’re underway. Much smaller crowd tonight than the home opener. The weather is nice, but maybe the weekday isn’t helping. Home openers are always bigger, too.

Pregame: Midfielder Keelin Winters, who had started all five games this season, became the fourth U.S. international out for the Reign as she picked up an injury last week against Sky Blue FC. The three others are goalkeeper Hope Solo (wrist surgery), midfielder Megan Rapinoe (on loan in France) and forward Amy Rodriguez (starting a family). Seattle defender Elli Reed, who had played four games this season, was also out due to a turned ankle suffered this week in practice.

Pregame: Here are the lineups…

Reign FC lineup: GK Michelle Betos, D Kiersten Dallstream, D Lauren Barnes, D Kate Deines (C), D Jennifer Ruiz, M Teresa Noyola, M Jess Fishlock, M Christine Nairn, F Kristina Larsen, F Lindsay Taylor, F Liz Bogus

Pregame: Good evening from Starfire Stadium, where Reign FC (0-4-1) will aim again for its first win of the NWSL season. The opponent tonight, the Washington Spirit, is also winless at 0-2-3. I’ll post updates here throughout the night.

USWNT coach Tom Sermanni is expected to be here tonight.
