Megan Rapinoe, who is on loan with France’s Lyon for the next few weeks, suffered a stunning 1-0 loss Thursday to Wolfsburg in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Perhaps of more consequence on the local level was the revelation in this SI.com story that she could head back to Lyon after finishing the NWSL season with Reign FC.

Rapinoe, a U.S. national team standout, is expected to join Seattle next month, but it apparently might not be for very long. She told Grant Wahl she is leaning toward a eventual return to the French team, in part because the money is significantly better.

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and I’m definitely thinking about coming back and playing another season here,” Rapinoe said in the report. “There’s interest from both sides, from me and Lyon. It’s worked out well mutually.”

Any thoughts on what could be another blow to the Reign? Let’s get to some links:

Jose Mourinho to Chelsea it is, apparently. And maybe he’ll sign this kid up…
