The MLS All-Star Game opponent was announced Thursday, and it will be a top Italian club for the first time in AS Roma. The exhibition will be July 31 at Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.
Roma, of course, features Italian legend Francesco Totti and American stalwart Michael Bradley.

— Chivas USA fired its head coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola late Thursday night. Newly appointed coach Jose Luis Real Casillas won’t arrive until Monday, according to a report, so youth development coach Sasha van der Most will serve in the interim for Saturday’s home game against Sounders FC.
