Poll: Do you think Sounders FC’s five red cards are a big deal?

Sounders FC has played 12 games this season, tied for the fewest in MLS, but also has a league-leading five red cards following Obafemi Martins‘ controversial ejection Saturday against Chivas USA.

Houston, New York and Chivas are tied for second in MLS with three red cards.

Seattle’s players who have been sent off are Lamar Neagle and DeAndre Yedlin (Philadelphia), Marcus Hahnemann (from the bench against Sporting Kansas City), Shalrie Joseph (Los Angeles) and Martins. That’s a team-high for a season since the eight red cards in 2009.

Here’s a look at the Sounders’ red-card history:

Five in 2013 — Neagle, Yedlin, Hahnemann, Joseph, Martins
Four in 2012 — Fredy Montero, Alvaro Fernandez, Zach Scott, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado
Two in 2011 — Hurtado (2)
Two in 2010 — Miguel Montano, Leo Gonzalez
Eight in 2009 — Tyrone Marshall (2), James  Riley (2), Nate Jaqua, Freddie Ljungberg, Kasey Keller, Montero

Certainly a couple of the red cards this year have been harsh, others have been deserved, but ultimately how do you judge this amount of ejections?
