The Sounders have a bye this weekend leading into a July 3 home game against D.C. United. As we get ready to flip to the next month in the calendar, the team’s communications department put together a chart of Seattle’s success month by month, which I’ve posted below.
July, as you can see, is the Sounders’ second-best month with a 1.93 points-per-game average, only behind October’s 2.27.
Other notes? Goals scored and allowed seem to pick up in the summer.
March is the only month with a losing record at 5-6-2, despite a plus-five goal differential. It’s also the month with the fewest amount of games. May, however, has the most games but is Seattle’s next-worst month.
Interesting stuff. Anything stand out to you?
