Fresh off back-to-back wins, Reign FC made a couple trades Monday. Here is a quick breakdown:
* * *
Trade with FC Kansas City
Seattle gets: Forward Renae Cuellar (an allocated Mexican international) and third-round pick in 2014 college draft.
Kansas City gets: Midfielder Teresa Noyola (an allocated Mexican international), second-round pick in 2014 college draft and rights to unsigned defender Nikki Krzysik.
Trade with Washington Spirit
Seattle gets: Second-round pick in 2014 college draft.
Washington gets: Forward Lindsay Taylor and conditional fourth-round pick in 2014 college draft
Cuellar, the big addition, has scored five goals in 11 games for FCKC, tied for fifth in the NWSL. Offense, of course, has been Seattle’s main issue — well, at least, earlier in the year — as the team has 10 goals in all of 2013. She will be available for Wednesday’s home game against Boston, pending league approval.
“Renae is a special player that we believe is capable of delivering goals,” said Laura Harvey, general manager and head coach, in a news release. “She has demonstrated that she can consistently score in this league, so for a team that has struggled getting goals throughout the season, we think she’ll be a massive addition to the squad.”
