Sounders FC vs. D.C. United, lineups

dc home2013

*     *     *

Welcome back to CenturyLink Field. It’s been a while, almost a month since the last game.

The Sounders were last here June 8 and the U.S. national team, of course, made a visit on June 11.

A little less excitement coming into this one probably, as Seattle hosts perhaps the worst team in MLS in D.C. United (2-12-3). Broadcaster Ross Fletcher, though, has referred to this as a “banana peel game” — if you’re not careful, you’ll slip up.

Not of lot of question marks when it comes to injuries as Osvaldo Alonso (quad strain) was ruled out Tuesday and Lamar Neagle (hip flexor) and DeAndre Yedlin (separated shoulder) are expected to be available in some fashion.

For D.C., Dwayne De Rosario (hip flexor) and Nick DeLeon (ankle) won’t be available.

I’ll post full lineups here when they’re released.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Michael Gspurning, D Zach Scott, D Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Mauro Rosales, M Servando Carrasco, M Andy Rose, M Brad Evans, F Eddie Johnson, F Obafemi Martins

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Marc Burch, D Patrick Ianni, M Shalrie Joseph, F/M Lamar Neagle, F/M David Estrada, F Sammy Ochoa

D.C. United lineup: GK Joe Willis, D Chris Korb, D Ethan White, D Daniel Woolard, D James Riley, M Sainey Nyassi, M Alain Rochat, M Perry Kitchen, M Kyle Porter, F Chris Pontius, F Lionard Pajoy

D.C. United bench: GK Andrew Dykstra, M Conor Shanosky, M Marcelo Saragosa, M John Thorrington, D Taylor Kemp, F Carlos Ruiz, F Casey Townsend

NOTES: This is Sounders FC’s 20th starting lineup in 20 games in all competitions (MLS, Open Cup, CCL). This is the fourth game Johnson and Martins are starting together up top, though Seattle is 0-3 in those games with a 1-8 goal differential. Servando Carrasco makes a ninth-straight MLS start (10th in all comps.), and the nine starts match what he had in his first two seasons combined.
