Sounders have been historically dominant in series with Colorado Rapids
The opportunities don’t come around very often, but Sounders FC could set some MLS history Saturday.
A win against Colorado would be Seattle’s eighth straight in the head-to-head series, and no team has ever beaten a league opponent more than seven times in a row.
The streak began July 25, 2010, with a 2-1 home win behind two goals from Steve Zakuani. Three years later, the run is still alive, and crazy enough, each victory has been by a single goal.
Of course the Rapids do have bragging rights in one key aspect the past few years, and that’s with an MLS Cup championship in 2010.
