Sounders FC vs. Chivas USA, lineups

chivas home 2013

*     *     *

It’s a lovely Sunday night here at CenturyLink Field as we count down to kickoff to a Sounders FC home game against Chivas USA.

Seattle hasn’t lost in the head-to-head series since 2009, a 7-0-4 unbeaten streak when you include two U.S. Open Cup games. I think only six Sounders on the roster have ever lost to the Goats.

There is also a potential record at stake, as Seattle could match a franchise best by going an eighth home game in a row without defeat. They hosts haven’t lost here since their season opener against Montreal.

On the health front, we’re expecting Obafemi Martins (knee), Brad Evans (rib), Djimi Traore (hamstring) and Andy Rose (hamstring) to all be available. This will likely be another starting lineup we haven’t seen, too, and I’ll post that below when it’s available.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Andrew Weber, D DeAndre Yedlin, D Patrick Ianni, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Mauro Rosales, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Brad Evans, M Marc Burch, F Lamar Neagle, F Obafemi Martins

Sounders FC bench: GK Doug Herrick, D Zach Scott, D Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, D Dylan Remick, M Servando Carrasco, F/M David Estrada, F Eriq Zavaleta

Chivas USA lineup: GK Dan Kennedy, D Mario de Luna, D Carlos Bocanegra, D Carlos Borja, D Marco Delgado, M Jorge Villafana, M Tristan Bowen, M Edgar Mejia, M Gabriel Farfan, M Carlos Alvarez, F Erick Torres

Chivas USA bench: GK Patrick McLain, D Steve Purdy, D Jaime Frias, M Josue Soto, M Martin Ponce, F Julio Morales, F Jose Manuel Rivera

NOTES: This is indeed Sounders FC’s 24th lineup in 24 games in all competitions. Ianni is making his season debut in the starting lineup. Burch starts his third-straight game at left mid. Carrasco’s run of 12-straight starts in MLS (13 in all competitions) ends tonight. Seattle is 3-0-1 when Neagle and Martins starting up front together.
