Eriq Zavaleta leads Sounders FC reserves to comeback against Chivas USA

Seattle Sounders FC LogoA Sounders FC comeback against Chivas USA on Sunday was followed by another comeback in the MLS Reserve League on Monday.

Eriq Zavaleta scored twice and Servando Carrasco converted a penalty kick as Seattle’s reserves overcame a two-goal deficit to beat Chivas USA, 3-2, at Starfire Stadium.

The Sounders improved to 2-5-1 in the reserve league, snapping a four-game losing streaks.

There were a few new faces in action, including academy product Cody Crook, invitee Blair Gavin and French trialist Youssef Adnane. Other non-roster guys that saw time are Doug Herrick, Ashani Fairclough, Henry Wingo and Jordan Morris.

Seattle’s next reserve game is Aug. 11 at Orlando City SC. Here is the full schedule…
