Eddie Johnson’s goal celebration: Big deal, little deal or no deal?

Eddie Johnson scored the game winner for 10-man Seattle in a gritty 1-0 road win Saturday at Columbus.

The forward has scored in three of his last four MLS games and is tied for the team lead with seven goals on the season. It’s been a good run leading into his next round of duty with the U.S. men’s national team, but some fans have expressed concern over Johnson’s celebration in Crew Stadium.

After the goal he appears to shrug off Mauro Rosales, who provided the assist, and repeat the phrase, “Pay me!” while making a show-me-the-money gesture.

Johnson, of course, is a bargain at $150,000, but many feel that wasn’t the best way to express his desire for a raise. And this wasn’t the first time it has come up, either.

What do you think?
