Sounders FC 1, Columbus 0, video highlights and postgame notes

Posted above are the highlights from Sounders FC’s 1-0 road win Saturday against the Columbus Crew, which came despite playing with 10 men for 83 minutes after a red card to Leo Gonzalez. Here are some postgame notes:

— Sounders FC has won five of its last six games and just had its best August at 4-1.
— Sounders FC could match its best 25-game record with win Wednesday vs. Chivas USA.
— Sounders FC improved to 5-7-1 on the road, 4-2-2 against the East.
— Sounders FC improved to 4-1-3 against Columbus with a 15-7 goal differential (3-0-1 at Crew Stadium with a 7-1 GD).
— Sounders FC is 36-0-8 when scoring the game’s first goal (11-0-2 this season), the longest active unbeaten run in MLS dating to the end of 2010. The league record is 58 games set by New York.
— Sounders FC is 8-0-2 when leading at halftime this season.
— Sounders FC is 3-6-6 when playing down a man, 5-8-9 overall when they receive a red card.
— Eddie Johnson has scored three goals in four games and his seven goals are tied for a team-high with Obafemi Martins. Eight goals in all competitions is most on the Sounders.
— Eddie Johnson has 62 MLS goals, 22nd in league history. Next: Kenny Cooper (69).
— Eddie Johnson has scored 12 of 21 MLS goals with his head the past two years.
— Eddie Johnson and Mauro Rosales have connected for nine goals in 2012-13.
— Mauro Rosales has four assists in his past six games and a team-high seven this season.
— Mauro Rosales has 33 assists for the Sounders, one short of Fredy Montero’s team record of 34.
— The Sounders are 24-2-7 when Mauro Rosales records a goal or assist.
— Michael Gspurning made three saves for his eighth shutout.
— Jhon Kennedy Hurtado is off yellow card warning due to the Good Behavior Incentive but Djimi Traore will be suspended upon his next caution.
— Hurtado is fourth in team history in starts (94), games (98) and minutes (8.357).
— With the red card, Leo Gonzalez will be suspended Wednesday against Chivas USA.
— Columbus recorded 24 shots but only got three on goal.
