First off, Evans has been improving but isn’t in consideration for this game. “He did a little bit more today, but he’s not nearly ready,” coach Sigi Schmid said.

Martins was kicked on his sore ankle today in practice and was held out for the final drills to make sure he’ll be able to return after missing three games. Schmid said he feels good about the chances of Martins playing against Chivas.

Here is an update from Schmid on a pair of rookies on the mend: “(Bates’) knee acted up, so it was just a knee cleanout, a meniscus cleanout, and Remick was just a hamstring (strain). When he crossed the ball in the reserve game, as he stepped off the field, he stepped on the concrete and slipped and braced himself and felt his hamstring go. Both of them are actually way ahead of schedule and improving really rapidly. We’re hoping by the end of this week that Dylan would be able to participate a little bit in training as a neutral player already, which for being a little over a week is actually pretty good.”
