Costa Rica jumps into lead in CONCACAF’s World Cup qualifying

concacaf logoFriday was a big day for Costa Rica in World Cup qualifying.

The Ticos earned a 3-1 home win against the U.S. men’s national team and jumped into first place in the CONCACAF standings. In other results, Honduras went on the road and beat Mexico, 2-1, and Panama was held to a scoreless tie at home against Jamaica.

Each team has three qualifiers remaining, as the top three advance to the FIFA World Cup and the fourth place team faces New Zealand in a playoff.

Here is a look at the remaining games and the standings:
