Fans may remember a narrative from a few years ago.
Sounders FC: solid on the road but underwhelming at home. Seattle players and coaches would note how visiting teams would feed off the energy of the CenturyLink Field crowd as a key reason for disappointing results.
In 2011, the team actually earned more points away (32) than at home (31).
That tune has changed in the past two years. The Sounders went 11-4-2 at CenturyLink in 2012 and things have been even better this season.
Seattle is 9-1-3 in front of its fans, 9-0-3 after a season-opening defeat to Montreal. The 12-game home unbeaten streak — which includes five-straight wins — is a franchise record and tied with San Jose for the longest in MLS this year.
