It’s official: The U.S. men’s national team has qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil

US Centennial shield-01-1.jpgBeating Mexico was the big task, but the U.S. men’s national team also got some help Tuesday as Honduras held Panama to a 2-2 tie, which clinched a 2014 World Cup for Jurgen Klinsmann and Co.

That’s seven World Cups in a row for anyone counting.

Costa Rica also booked a trip to Brazil with a 1-1 tie against Jamaica. Other teams qualified worldwide, other of the host nation, include Argentina, Australia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Netherlands and South Korea.

Back in CONCACAF, Mexico still has to work to do just to finish in fourth, which comes with a home-and-home playoff with New Zealand for a World Cup berth.

Here is a look at the remaining games and the standings:

USA — vs. Jamaica (Oct. 11), at Panama (Oct. 15)
