Sounders FC vs. Real Salt Lake, lineups

rsl home 2013

Big night here at CenturyLink Field.

Sounders FC vs. Real Salt Lake. The top best teams in MLS right now. The NBC Sports Network is in town for a national broadcast. A larger-than-normal crowd is expected, as ticket sales were at 52,000 earlier in the week.

Seattle, the winner of four straight and seven of eight, could jump up to first place in the league with a win. Salt Lake won the first two meetings this year and are looking for their first season sweep.

The only lineup concerns are whether the returning U.S. nationals will start or be on the bench — Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson for the Sounders and Kyle Beckerman for RSL. Standouts Brad Evans and Alvaro Saborio have each been ruled out with calf strains.

I’ll post lineups here when they become available:

Sounders FC lineup: GK Michael Gspurning, D DeAndre Yedlin, D Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, D Zach Scott, D Leo Gonzalez, M Mauro Rosales, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Andy Rose, M Marc Burch, F Obafemi Martins, F Lamar Neagle

Sounders FC bench: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Djimi Traore, D Patrick Ianni, M Alex Caskey, F/M David Estrada, F Eddie Johnson, F Clint Dempsey

Real Salt Lake lineup: GK Nick Rimando, D Tony Beltran, D Carlos Salcedo, D Nat Borchers, D Chris Wingert, M Ned Grabavoy, M Kyle Beckerman, M Javier Morales, M Luis Gil, F Robbie Findley, F Joao Plata

Real Salt Lake bench: GK Jeff Attinella, F Devon Sandoval, M Yordany Alvarez, F Olmes Garcia, M Cole Grossman, M/D Lovel Palmer, M Khari Stephenson

NOTES: This is Sounders FC’s 31st lineup in 32 games in all competitions. Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson start out on the bench. Kyle Beckerman, RSL’s returning U.S. international, is starting. Andy Rose earns his second straight in a row. Zach Scott replaces Djimi Traore in the back.
