David Estrada, Patrick Ianni lead Sounders reserves to 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake

The Sounders picked up another 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake, this time in the MLS Reserve League on Saturday.

David Estrada and Patrick Ianni scored the goals (Estrada has two in his last two games) as Seattle improved to 3-6-2. Marcus  Hahnemann made five saves to earn the shutout and Blair Gavin had two assists.

RSL dropped to 5-4-4 in what wasn’t a great trip to the Pacific Northwest.

The Sounders had an interesting guest player in the starting lineup, Leyti N’Diaye, a Senegalese center back who has been under contract with Olympique de Marseille but on loan for most of that time. Another was Vincent Weijl, a Dutchman who was signed by Liverpool but never played.

Others in action were academy players Malcolm Frago (who came up through Costa Rica’s Saprissa), Kenny Sweet and Justin Crichlow. Local products Ciaran O’Brien and Machael David were on the bench.

The Sounders final reserve game is Oct. 14 at Portland. Here is a look at the schedule:
