Colorado’s 5-1 trouncing of the Sounders started with the second-fastest goal in MLS history (Deshorn Brown, 14 seconds) and ended in second-half stoppage time (Gabriel Torres, 91st minute). When the final whistle put an end to the misery, Seattle had matched its worst ever loss in an MLS game.
The Sounders had never allowed so many goals against a league opponent. Santos Laguna was the only other team to score so much against Seattle in competition — a 6-1 win in the CONCACAF Champions League on March 14, 2012.
