A reader recalls Seattle’s place in the coaching exploits of Harry Redknapp
Harry Redknapp has been one of the great coaches in the England for more than a decade, but not everyone knows of his local connection.
Redknapp, a London native, was actually a player-coach for the Sounders under Jimmy Gabriel in the old North American Soccer League from 1976-79. He’s gone on to coach multiple teams in the Premier League and many thought he was in line to coach England’s national team when the job opened up last year.
