Sounders FC has been fined $5,000 and coach Sigi Schmid has been fined an additional $1,000 after the MLS Disciplinary Committee determined Seattle violated the league’s mass confrontation policy Sunday.
This hardly comes as a surprise as a 74th-minute red card to Osvaldo Alonso led to quite a reaction from Sounders players, coaches and staff.
Here is video of the incident.
This is the Sounders’ second instance of mass confrontation, according to a news release from the league, but the first isn’t coming immediately to mind.

Any thoughts on the punishment?
