Sounders FC vs. Portland Timbers, lineups

timbers home playoffs

The wind has settled down, somewhat.

The skies are clear, for now.

At the moment, things look good at CenturyLink Field except for one key thing — the NFL lines and markings. But let’s not let that ruin the exciting matchup we have here in the Western Conference semifinals between Sounders FC and the Portland Timbers.

So winners will be determined in tonight’s first leg, with kickoff around 7:23 p.m. due to the NBC Sports Network broadcast. That will have to wait until Thursday’s second leg.

A couple question marks for Seattle are DeAndre Yedlin (ankle) and Obafemi Martins (groin), but I’m sure if we should expect them to be available. Same could go for Portland forward Maximiliano Urruti, who is recovering from a hamstring strain.

The Sounders, as we know, have struggled in first legs, but that could all change tonight.

I’ll post lineups here when they become available.

Sounders FC lineup: GK Marcus Hahnemann, D Zach Scott, D Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, D Djimi Traore, D Leo Gonzalez, M Brad Evans, M Osvaldo Alonso, M Adam Moffat, M Clint Dempsey, F Eddie Johnson, F Lamar Neagle

Sounders FC bench: GK Doug Herrick, D Marc Burch, D Patrick Ianni, M Shalrie Joseph, M Mauro Rosales, M Andy Rose, F David Estrada

Portland lineup: GK Donovan Ricketts, D Jack Jewsbury, D Futty Danso, D Pa Modou Kah, D Michael Harrington, M Diego Chara, M Diego Valeri, M Will Johnson, F Darlington Nagbe, F Ryan Johnson, F Rodney Wallace

Portland bench: GK Milos Kocic, D Andrew Jean-Baptiste, M Kalif Alhassan, M Ben Zemanski, M Sal Zizzo, F Frederic Piquionne, F Jose Valencia

NOTES: Another game, another lineup. This is 35 of 36 for Seattle in MLS games, 40 of 41 in all competitions. DeAndre Yedlin and Leo Gonzalez underwent pregame fitness tests. Looks like the left back was OK, but the right back is out. Also no Obafemi Martins for a fifth-straight game and Maximiliano Urruti is out for the Timbers.
