As I wrote for the paper today, Kenny Cooper and Eddie Johnson are bound to be compared in 2014 — fair or not.
And knowing that this individual goals race isn’t necessarily going to determine whether the swap was a good move or not, I’m still curious which forward people think will score more goals next season.
Recent history has been pretty even. Cooper, signed by the Sounders on Thursday, has scored 24 goals the past two seasons. Johnson, traded to D.C. United on Tuesday, has scored 23 in the same timeframe since his MLS return.
A couple other things one might consider: potential U.S. national team duty, strength of teams and health history.
So what do you think?
