UPDATE: I did get in contact with Hagen’s agent regarding this story, but he declined to comment.

The Sounders are in pursuit of defender Steffen Hagen of Norwegian first-division club Odds BK, according to Norwegian newspaper Telemarksavisa.
The report says Hagen, the Odd captain, is under contract through 2015. Both the 27 year old and his agent are quoted on the record confirming interest from the Sounders, and Hagen is apparently considering the move.
It looks like the 6-foot-1 Hagen can play center back or right back. He also has two caps with the Norwegian national team.
What might be an obstacle in negotiations is a transfer fee, and while my understanding of the report is mainly through Google translation, as unreliable as it may be, Odd might be asking as much as $400,000.
Anyways, the Sounders have five of seven international roster slots available, by my count, so when you couple that with the allocation money acquired in the Eddie Johnson trade, I’m betting some foreign signings are in store.
