Rumor mill: Sounders reportedly offered Didier Drogba contract

Sounders FC continues to be linked with Galatasaray forward Didier Drogba in the Turkish media, and Sounder at Heart has passed along a report (translation required) that claims Seattle offered the Ivorian international a multimillion-dollar deal in January.

The Sounders labeled the Drogba news as rumor earlier this month when multiple reports indicated the team was lining up a summer move for the former Chelsea star.

Drogba’s contract with the Turkish club ends this summer, and he isn’t expected to return.

Seattle still has a full allotment of three designated players, so it is unsure how the acquisition would even be feasible.
