The wait is over: Sounders FC has officially unveiled its new third uniform.
They are calling it Pitch Black with radiant green trim, shorts and socks. Seattle’s primary Rave Green jersey and secondary Cascade Shale jersey will remain the same this season.
Here is some information from a news release:
The adidas 3-Stripes on the shoulders fade from green to black. Inside the jersey, along the collar, is a glossy “soundwave” design that represents the energy of the fans.
The crest is two colors with a lenticular or magnified Space Needle in the background. This detail is also included on the shorts. All authentic Pitch Black jerseys will include the 40th Anniversary logo.
There is an iconic band on the back of the jersey, above the players name and number, which represents motion in a salute to the World Cup and Brazilian influence.
The new kit is one of the lightest jerseys and features adidas ClimaCool technology for temperature regulation and moisture management.
Fans can buy the new jersey online through the team website or the Pro Shops (one is downtown at 410 Pike Street and the other is at CenturyLink Field).
