Here is an interesting report I’ve seen on Twitter this morning. Apparently an poll has indicated MLS has become as popular as Major League Baseball for the first time among 12 to 17 years olds.
Both leagues claim about 18-percent avid support.
“MLS has been around since 1996,” said Rich Luker, the social scientist who created the study, in ESPN.com report. “It is phenomenal that in just one generation it has gone from zero adherents to tying MLB, especially when you recognize this is the first generation to only know the United States with a professional soccer league. MLS is in their generational DNA.”
