All three MLS teams out in CCL quarterfinals

It wasn’t too long when we were thinking the three MLS teams in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals were in good shape heading into their second legs.

Well, things didn’t go well.

After the Los Angeles Galaxy were knocked out by Club Tijuana on Tuesday, San Jose and Sporting Kansas City were eliminated by Toluca (in penalty kicks) and Cruz Azul (in a blowout), respectively.

Here are the second-leg highlights:

LA Galaxy vs. Club Tijuana (aggregate: Tijuana wins 4-3)
— LA won first leg 1-0, Tijuana won second leg 4-2

San Jose vs. Toluca (aggregate: 2-2, Toluca advances on penalty kicks)
— first leg 1-1, second leg 1-1

Sporting Kansas City vs. Cruz Azul (aggregate: Cruz Azul wins 5-2)
— KC won first leg 1-0, Cruz Azul won second leg 5-1
