Reign FC signs draft pick Megan Brigman

Reign FC filled its final roster spot Monday by signing defender Megan Brigman, the team’s second-round draft pick (No. 17 overall).

The contract is for one year with a club option for the 2015 season. Per NWSL and team policy, financial terms were not disclosed. Brigman, a North Carolina product, will take up the 20th and final roster spot for Seattle.

“Megan was someone that we watched carefully last season and hoped would be available with our second pick,” said Laura Harvey, coach and general manager, in a news release. “She has done very well in preseason training and we believe she has the potential to develop into a successful professional player.”

The Reign season opener is at home April 13 against Boston at the team’s new home at Seattle’s Memorial Stadium. Tickets are still available on the team website.
