Record books need updating after 4-4 epic (postgame notes)

Here is quick look at some of the records set or tied in Saturday’s 4-4 tie against the Timbers:

Most goals in a game by a player (tied): Clint Dempsey, 3
Most goals in a half by a player (tied): Clint Dempsey, 2
Most shots on goal in a game by a player (tied): Clint Dempsey, 5
Most shots on goal in a half by a player (tied): Clint Dempsey, 4
Most goals by both teams in a game (tied): 8
Most assists in a game by the Sounders (tied): 6
Most assists by both teams in a game: 8

And here are some other notes…

— The Sounders avoided a fourth-straight loss to the Timbers.
— The Sounders are 0-3-2 in their last five trips to Portland.
— The Sounders haven’t lost in April since 2010, a 6-0-5 run.
— The Sounders are 1-0-1 on the road (and also in Pitch Black uniforms).
— The Sounders had never gotten four points out of their first two road games ties their best start (Updated to correct).
— The Sounders have only been shut out once in 11 games against Portland.

— Steve Zakuani came off the bench to join Andrew Weber and Kenny Cooper as the only three to have participated in both sides of a Sounders-Timbers game.
